I make clothing and write about making clothing.
Trained as a fashion designer, I work as an independent designer, visual artist and writer. I investigate how body and dress influence and constitute each other. Grounded in my experience in dressmaking and tailoring, I reflect on the garment from the inside, examining the foundations of the techniques used to dress bodies. I’m completing an MA in Philosophy at Radboud University, focusing on the late eighteenth-century shift in menswear and the specific conception of nature underpinning it. Drawing on costume history and fashion theory, I bring these into dialogue with philosophical traditions.
