As a
designer and researcher I am fascinated by the translation of anatomy in
clothing construction. My tactile and tacit knowledge of the garment-making
process combined with analytical and writing skills allow me to merge
theoretical research and experimental making. Using these different approaches,
I analyse the very foundations of the techniques we use to dress our bodies.
My work tends to revolve around the following themes: the impact of clothing on our understanding of our body, the abstraction of the body in pattern, body ideals that are embedded in garment-making techniques, anthropometry and standardisation.
