Profile
I am a designer, artist and writer working between fashion and philosophy. I make clothing and objects that sometimes resemble clothing, approaching the body through cut and construction. My work considers how garments shape, translate and mediate anatomy.
Grounded in my experience in dressmaking and tailoring, I reflect on the garment from the inside, examining the foundations of the techniques used to dress bodies.
I also write and edit on design and visual culture in English and Dutch, working with institutions including Design Academy Eindhoven and Artez University Press.
Alongside this work, I am completing an MA in Philosophy at Radboud University. My research centres on the late eighteenth-century shift in European menswear, the conception of nature underpinning it, and its relation to Neoclassicism. It brings costume history and fashion theory into dialogue with philosophy, informed by my practice as a maker.
